The Answer.                         359
My Life, my Portion Thou, Thou all-sufficient art; My Hope, my heavenly Treasure, now Enter, and keep my heart!
Charles Wesley. 1740,
CCCXXXVIII.
My spirit longeth for Thee
Within my troubled breast, Although I be unworthy
Of so Divine a Guest.
Of so Divine a Guest
Unworthy though I be, Yet has my heart no rest
Unless it come from Thee.
Unless it come from Thee,
In vain I look around ; In all that I can see
No rest is to be found.
No rest is to be found But in Thy blessed love :
0  let my wish be crown'd, And send it from above !
John Byrom. 1773.
CCCXXXIX.
Weary of wandering from my God, And now made willing to return,
1  hear, and bow me to the rod;
For Him, not without hope, I mourn: I have an Advocate above, A friend before the Throne of Love.
